The Main Street Association exists to make Main Street the most exciting, inviting, go-to street in the community, rivaling other cities’ downtowns. We do this by serving as the collective voice of the businesses, attractions and residences on the street through advocacy and access/connections to civic collaborations. We identify projects for street beautification, safety, engagement and so on. We support Louisville’s overall development and growth.
Main Street is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Louisville and runs along the beautiful Ohio River, which borders Southern Indiana.
There are plenty of places for you to park while you are downtown, with a variety of payment options, including cash, card and phone app. For a full description of parking options, please visit Parking Authority (PARC)

Main Street Association is a primarily volunteer-run 501(c)3 organization that is not funded by Metro Louisville. Financial support for the organization comes from individual and business contributions in the form of annual membership dues, donations and events. Supporters include local entities and individuals that have a stake in downtown: civic entities, merchants, businesses and the public. The success of the Main Street program over the past 40 years is attributed to its local nature, both organizationally and financially. When there is local buy-in, people care more about the success of the program and become more involved.
According to our bylaws, there are two types of members – regular and associate. Regular members shall be persons, corporations or other legal entities who reside or transact business in or on real property located within the following locale: east of 15th Street, west of Baxter Avenue, south of the Ohio River and north of the north curb of Jefferson Street. Associate members are those who hold an interest in the vitality, prosperity and growth of the Main Street area as defined above. As Main Street expands west into Portland, we look forward to expanding the footprint in our bylaws.
